Outdoor advertising can be a great way to attract customers and build your business’s reputation. In this article, we explore how to create a truly amazing billboard.

Think Outside the Box

Be creative and represent your business in a way that will make it memorable. To do that efficiently, you should consider the following ideas:

  • Consider Your Audience

The best advertisements are those that are specially targeted towards a demographic. If you are aware of your target demographic, create advertisements that are specifically targeted towards them.

This involves not only creating a message that will appeal to them, but also placing the message somewhere relevant. We can help with this.

  • Word Limit

Your billboard should be engaging, but this doesn’t mean that it should be busy. Generally, six words or less with an engaging and relevant picture would yield better results than a billboard that is mostly writing. If it is more than six or eight words, your audience is less likely to read it.

  • Type Face

Keep your type font clean and readable. Fancy types with flourishes are likely to be lost in translation. If in doubt, simply choose a classic font and make it large and place it against a complimentary backdrop.

  • Colours

As with the type font, don’t aim to impress with bright neon colours. Colours which are too bright, or generally not compatible, will distract your audience from the content and will leave them weary.

That being said, don’t be afraid to use colour – just use it wisely.

  • Build a Story

Research shows that people are more likely to remember a story than a fact. If you can think up of an original unique way to link your brand to a story, do so.
